La Pasión de Callosa de Segura is currently a grand Auto Sacramental that brings to life the magnificent verses written in 1924 by the brilliant Valencian author Juan Bautista Pont, titled "El Drama del Calvario," recently complemented with several acts by local authors. Noteworthy is its text, which, being versified, is of extraordinary quality, providing the performances with an undeniable literary interest.

       

Throughout its thirteen scenes and ten interludes, the Life, Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth are depicted. This great story, which occurred more than two thousand years ago, comes to life every Lent in the city of Callosa, and, interpreted by over 60 characters, will transport you to that time.

     

Furthermore, La Pasión involves another large group of people as extras, and many others as collaborators, stagehands, and those in charge of sound, lighting, and set design, totaling 140 people. After 49 years, they continue to make this magnificent reality possible, known throughout Spain.
